Blackout Trafficking 2020

March 1, 2020 @ 12:00 am - March 31, 2020 @ 11:30 pm

Each year, people around the globe — including a group supporting San Diego anti-trafficking non-profits, choose one black item to wear each day through the month of March for a 31-day challenge to do something about human trafficking.

We take people who know everything, or absolutely nothing about trafficking, and help them learn about human trafficking, how to create awareness, show them how to fundraise, and connect them with partner orgs on the ground (via weekly challenges and guidance in emails and social media). This is how we rise-up advocates for freedom–through something simple, that everyone from children to grandmas can participate in, from construction-workers, to college students, to moms of newborns.

If you are interested in participating, go to BlackoutTrafficking.org to register or learn more. This is a also a great first step to lead others in, and has been used by businesses, churches, community groups, and even a knitting circle as a simple challenge to engage busy people who will never go to a trafficking event, but creates long-term investment in the anti-trafficking movement.
