BSCC Hosts Meeting with U.S Department of Homeland Security’s Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman Maria Odom’s visit with local San Diego stakeholders
July 18, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
RSVP: info@bsccinfo.org
As Chair of the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign to Combat Human Trafficking, Ombudsman Odom would like to meet with human trafficking stakeholders in San Diego, CA to hear your perspectives on how human trafficking and domestic violence impact your communities. Representatives from the San Diego Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) who handle investigations related to human trafficking in the San Diego area will also join the conversation.
The Blue Campaign is the unified voice for DHS’ efforts to combat human trafficking and provides information on training and outreach, indicators of human trafficking, and victim assistance to help keep the public informed. Increased awareness and training will lead to more tips to law enforcement, which will result in more victims being identified. More information about the Blue Campaign and DHS’ efforts to combat human trafficking is available at: www.dhs.gov/end-human-trafficking
