Community Impact Forum: Examining the Connection Between Foster Youth and Human Trafficking.

October 29, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Did you know that the majority of San Diego County’s human trafficking victims were involved in the child dependency (or welfare) system?
Join the Junior League of San Diego’s Advocacy Committee and a local panel of experts at the 2014 Community Impact Forum to explore the connection between foster youth and human trafficking, why these two populations over-lap so frequently and what members of the community can do to break this vicious cycle. The panel will feature Charisma De Los Reyes (MSW, Child Welfare Services), Gerald Fineman (Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County), James F. Gates (Ph.D., Professor and Director, Center for Justice and Reconciliation at Point Loma Nazarene), and will be moderated by Melanie Delgado, (Attorney, Children’s Advocacy Institute).
