Cuatro Corridos – A Chamber Opera

Cuatro Corridos is an hour long opera that addresses human trafficking. Led by Grammy Award winning soprano Susan Narucki with libretto by internationally acclaimed Mexican novelist Jorge Volpi, Cuatro Corridos is the story of four women whose lives are scarred by human trafficking, based on true events in the San Diego/Tijuana region. Since its premiere in 2013, Cuatro Corridos has been performed a dozen times in United States and Mexico and was the subject of a national broadcast in Mexico. The opera has earned widespread critical acclaim and the support of the National Endowment for the Arts.
This special performance takes place at the Conrad Prebys Music Center, UC San Diego on January 13, 2016 at 7 p.m.
