The Injustice and Victimization of Human Trafficking

December 5, 2014 @ 8:15 am - 10:00 am

$10 – $15

Over the past four years, the number of human trafficking cases prosecuted in San Diego has more than tripled. What can we do as a community? How can we raise awareness? We will provide an overview of the crisis, bringing together a wide range of perspectives and voices. Our diverse panel will lead the discussion on the impact of this trade on our region and what we, as a community, can do to impart change. Panelists: Dr. Ami Carpenter, Associate Professor, Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, University of San Diego; Charisma De Los Reyes, Senior Protective Worker, CSEC Liaison, Health & Human Service Agency, Child Welfare Services, San Diego County; and Summer Stephan, San Diego County Chief Deputy District Attorney. Moderator: Dr. Susan Thomson Tschirn, Vice Chair, San Diego Human Relations Commission.
